Thanksgiving is
an American holiday.
Each year, it is celebrated on
the 4th Thursday of November. This year it is on
November 26th.
Americans remember
the Pilgrims, the first English people to live in America.
The Pilgrims left England because of religious persecution. They crossed the Atlantic ocean aboard
the Mayflower to start a colony in New England in 1620.
The Pilgrims' first year was very difficult in the New World. They had little to eat because their crops didn't grow. Some Indians helped them. They showed them new plants. The Pilgrims wanted to
thank the Indians, so they invited them to a special dinner.

Today, Americans have a similar dinner to remember the first Thanksgiving.

Comme certains d'entre vous le savent déjà, le collège Louis de Broglie se lance dans la
baladodiffusion en langues vivantes.
Nous avons obtenu le soutien du Conseil Général de la Meuse qui est venu nous remettre
30 baladeurs MP3 le 9 novembre dernier.
L'expérimentation débutera avec les élèves de 4èmes B et C sélectionnés pour cette expérimentation.
C'est un
outil pédagogique d'entraînement qui va vous permettre de travailler l'oral, aussi bien la compréhension que l'expression orale puisque vous allez pouvoir vous enregistrer grâce au
dictaphone intégré.
Cet
outil pédagogique servira également d'
outil d'évaluation pour la validation du
niveau A2 du CECRL. Il permettra en effet aux professeurs de langues étrangères de valider la
POC ou Production Orale en Continue, une des 5 compétences du niveau A2.
Cette expérimentation s'inscrit dans une politique d'intégration des
TICE (Tecnologies de l'Information et de la Communication pour l'Education) et trouvera toute sa place dans la validation
du
B2I (Brevet Informatique et Internet ) nécessaire à l'obtention du Brevet des Collèges.
En anglais, nous débuterons l'expérimentation en poursuivant le travail déjà commencé sur la prononciation du son TH. Je vous ai sélectionné quelques délicieux virelangues pour vous
entraîner...

The Mayflower is the name of the ship which set sail from
Plymouth in England and crossed the Atlantic ocean to arrive at
Cape Cod, which is now in
Massachusetts in the
USA in 1620.
