Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the USA.
Is is on the 4th Thursday in November. It commemorates the first harvest of the British settlers who arrived in America in 1620.
Today Americans eat turkey for Thanksgiving dinner and every year the President "pardons" one turkey.

It was President Obama's first Turkey Pardon. He granted his pardon to 'Courage', a turkey spared the Thanksgiving table.
