Earth Day is a day created to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It is held on April 22 every year.
It was founded in the USA by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries.
On that day, some people plant trees, others clean rivers or the beach and others still take a pledge not to pollute so much.
