RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD (year 8)

Today we are studying( and singing !) Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head.

It is a song written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach for the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Kid, with Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

The film won an Academy award for Best Original song.

The song was originally sung by  B.J. Thomas, an American popular singer known for his chart-topping hits in the 1960s and 1970s.

Then, in 1971, Sacha Distel sang it as well. His French version "Toute la pluis tombe sur moi"  was a hit in the UK and in France.

The song was later played in Spiderman2 in 2004 and later still in Alvin and the Chipmunks in 2007.

Here's the video:

The lyrics are on page 64, Enjoy English in 5e.

Is it an optimistic or pessimistic song?

Yes, you're right. It is an optimistic song.
