Wear green clothes on that day. It can be a green T-shirt, a green pullover, a green scarf, green socks or whatever, but is has to be green. I hope you'll be up to it !

Watch this video.

Irish and non-Irish people are getting ready to celebrate Saint Patrick's day, and so am I.

Happy Valentine's day ! I hope you're having a great weekend.

Happy Valentine's day

Here are the poems we listened to in class:

Five little hearts, all in a row

The first one says, " I love you so."
The second one says, " Be my Valentine "
The third one says,
" Please be mine,"
The fourth one says,
"I'll be your friend."
The fifth one says, "Till the very end."

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

Sugar is sweet,

And so are you.

Do you love me

Or do you not?

You told me once

But I forgot.

Just as the vine

Grows round the stump,

You are my darling

Sugar lump.

Just as the mouse

Runs over the rafter,

You are the very one

I’m after.

Christmas is a Christian festival which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem.

December 24th is called Christmas Eve. Eve (as in evening) means the day before. People get ready to welcome Santa Claus or Father Xmas, but they don't celebrate until Xmas Day.

December 25th is called Xmas day. In Britain, Xmas is the most important festival of the year. People get together, exchange presents and eat a traditional meal composed of turkey and roast potatoes, followed by Xmas pudding for dessert. At 3 o'clock, the Queen makes a speech on television.

December 26th is a holiday in England because in the past it was the day when the masters gave presents (boxes) to their servants. It is called Boxing Day.

Thanksgiving is an American holiday.

Each year, it is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. This year it is on November 26th.

Americans remember the Pilgrims, the first English people to live in America.

The Pilgrims left England because of religious persecution. They crossed the Atlantic ocean aboard the Mayflower to start a colony in New England in 1620.

The Pilgrims' first year was very difficult in the New World. They had little to eat because their crops didn't grow. Some Indians helped them. They showed them new plants. The Pilgrims wanted to thank the Indians, so they invited them to a special dinner.

Today, Americans have a similar dinner to remember the first Thanksgiving.

What is the typical Thanksgiving dinner composed of ? What kind of meat, vegetables and dessert do they have?

Congrats Ronan (8A) ! The typical Thanksgiving dinner is composed of turkey served with corn and sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie
